Little Italy
Little
Italy is one of the oldest and most charming neighborhoods in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The neighborhood
is located along Baltimore's Inner Harbor in the southeastern section of the city. Italian
immigrants filled the homes of Little Italy in the early 20th Centrury creating a family environment that
still exists. Some of these early settlers opened restaurants, butcher shops, hair salons, corner stores, pharmacies,
funeral homes, and dry cleaners. Some of these still exist, as well. In recent years, new developments have
added other focus areas to the neighborhood, including many new bars, restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Little Italy is walking
distance to the neighborhoods of Fells Point, Harbor East and Butchers Hill.
